Sam's Philosophy:
On my first adventure travel to Africa from Switzerland, I fell in love with the Namib, one of the oldest deserts of the world. I soon made Swakopmund my home, driven by feelings of having found warmth, shelter and the joy of living, and set out to realise my dream of establishing a modern yet cosy guesthouse in African surroundings.

Today, the Giardino is characterised by comfortable European-
style accommodation facilities coupled with numerous stimulating guest conveniences, the best in cuisine and wine the Southern African region has to offer, and a high level of cordial yet unobtrusive service quality that made Swiss hospitality legendary.
I'd like to share this special place with you in the hope that you too will feel enchanted and at home in our green oasis on the
Namib Desert's
Skeleton Coast.

Dear Giardino Friends & Newcomers
Spring just arrived in Namibia and it's so lovely to see nature greeting
it with fresh growth and first blossoms. We look forward to sharing this
joyous time with our visitors from far and wide!
Unfortunately, I'm
also in a hurry to inform you of some not-so-nice news: Our original
EMAIL address on this website got hijacked by some really ugly spammers.
The drastic actions we were forced to take regrettably make it a bit
less convenient for all our customers to send us an email through the
new address now displayed on the Contact page -
you know that an email address does NOT have empty spaces in between and
how the "at" sign has got to look, so please kindly bear with us and
note the new one correctly.

Oh dear, I kept promising you that I
would update these pages with new photos of me and other things. And you
know what? Early this year, we decided to take an entirely
different route. Without giving too much away ... it involves
a new website and you finding us on social media sites too.
Isn't that exciting?!
For now please keep on the tail, pardon me,
trail of my predecessors.
