Dear Friends and Colleagues in Tourism
The Giardino e-News #02 comes to you
delayed and from me, Sam, directly, as there is currently no PR Manager
to assist me.
Unfortunately, sadness is often the companion of great joy ... I have to
start off with the sad news that Ornella left for the Rainbow Bridge in
September 2009. Only three-and-a-half years young, she succumbed to a
malicious, fast-progressing type of cancer and is terribly missed.
Since the Giardino isn't really complete without a Bernese Mountain Dog
around, we immediately started searching for a successor - and what a
mission that turned out to be, due to short supply! However, we found
the little fellow on the right, a whole of 2 days old & 543
grams light, and are anxiously awaiting "his" arrival from Germany in
Jan. 2010.

feedback amongst others!
On a general note, well, what can be said about
this strange year in Namibia, not only on the weather front?! It seems
we were one of the lucky few who did not experience dwindling visitor
numbers, and bookings for the summer holiday season ook
fine too. A special big Thank You goes to everyone who helped ensure
that the Giardino is still in great shape!
Please do keep up the good work, as we expect 2010 to get even tougher
...

We finished the gazebo still before this year's
high season and guests are thoroughly enjoying this shaded retreat in
our gardens. We also started replacing the reed ceiling panels in guest
rooms with proper wooden ones.
Furthermore, I'd like once more to call upon
everyone who likes to receive our Giardino News every few months to

Don't forget to visit our

did not yet see our booking agents make much use of the nice

although guests love them!
 I guess it will be 2010 until we write again. From
all of us to all of you, enjoy your well-earned holidays and a
marvellous festive season!
