Giardino e-News #01

Jan-May 2009

Friendly Greetings from Ornella in Swakopmund, Namibia
& Cordially Welcome to our first Giardino e-News!

I've got plenty to tell you (maybe Sam will get a word in too...), so here we go:

Those of you who regularly visit our website are already familiar with its News Section and know from the many entries that we kept pretty busy over the last 2 years. Guests just love the results - check the feedback!

In the early days of 2009, we still thought that taking a break from all the improving of facilities and re-arranging of furniture would be nice but ... well, the 'building bug' got the better of us again! Read more...

And let me tell you, I am suffering! Not because these upgrade-crazy humans around me stole one of my favourite hiding places in the garden (there's plenty of space to find a new one) ... they put me on a strict diet - vet's orders! Can you believe it? Me who loves her snacks so much, especially those that our foreign visitors bring along for me.
Anyway, I can proudly report today that this gorgeous lady on four paws minus 4kg is almost irresistible again - but just you wait, until I lost the remaining surplus! When I let my fur down, no one will want to stay anywhere else but with ... okay-okay, Sam ... with us, at the Giardino!

Otherwise, Namibia is doing rather well despite of these economically challenging times, which goes to proof that our country is indeed a very special travel destination, with many loyal repeat visitors.
Since most Namibian regions received very good summer rain falls, some even as late as early May, we are probably in for some pretty chilly winter nights over the coming few months. So please do tell your customers travelling to our part of the world to pack some warm 'jamies' ... except, of course, for the Giardino, as all our guest rooms do have heaters and snugly down-feather duvets. And the fire place in the restaurant will also be kept going. We wouldn't want to spoil the cosy atmosphere for guests enjoying leisurely extended breakfasts and gourmet dinners, would we? We might not always watch the bathroom scale so well but we always make sure our guests experience the kind of holidays they seek and deserve - only the best, most inspiring!

For more news, simply check for links to our website around this email, and don't forget either to head over to our product manual, the "Giardino On-line Guide", once in a while ... we produced some pretty nifty new sales tools (i.e. info pages) for you too.

Sam, did you want to add anything? No, great, then we're done for now!
Until next time ... nice chatting with you and hope to see you soon at the Giardino
... pssst, don't forget to smuggle in some treats!
Ta-Ta, or if you'd prefer ...

Kind regards

Ornella

Those of you who wonder what happened to our plans for building more rooms:

The extension building is still on the cards and we keep looking for nice things to make it really luxurious.
Only the paperwork still seems to be taking forever and so we do not expect construction works to begin before 2010 ... if we are going to be so lucky.

Our newsletters will keep you informed of progress!
